READ BEFORE YOU BUY: The Z-Wave stick is for advanced users only, NOT for beginners. You must be comfortable with programming and have expert computer and Z-Wave knowledge to use this device. NVM back-up from 500 or 700 series Z-Wave sticks will brick the device. Do NOT apply NVM backups or firmware updates published outside of the Zooz support portal to avoid bricking the stick and voiding its warranty.
NEW 800 SERIES Z-WAVE LONG RANGE: Take advantage of the latest wireless innovation with Z-Wave Long Range that extends your network coverage up to a mile. NOTE: Your home automation software needs to support the Long Range implementation on the interface side as well as the end Z-Wave device you add to the network for the Long Range functionality to be fully unlocked.
WHAT YOU NEED: This 800 Series Long Range Stick adds Z-Wave Plus and Z-Wave Long Range capability to your DIY smart home set-up. You’ll need a dedicated computer (PC, laptop, or Raspberry Pi, sold separately) and home automation software of your choice (not included) to complete the system.
ADVANCED Z-WAVE: Works great with the most popular software like Home Assitant (with JS) and HomeSeer. Supports OTA firmware updates and and all of the latest Z-Wave library commands.

Z-Wave stick that works very well with Home Assistant
I bought this stick to pair with Home Assistant. It was very easy to set up with HA and has worked exactly as I hoped.

Worked with home assistant straight away. No problems.
Works great for me. Range is good as far as I can tell. I’m using via usb passthrough to my home assistant VM. No drivers or other additional stuff required. Just works.

Simple setup. Strong connection!
The value for the money was insane! Considering prebuilt hubs can run around $200 this usb stick is everything you need for zwave connectivity. I use it on my raspberry pi 4b 8gb with HomeAssistant and life couldn’t get much better. Everything is turned into a cross platform hub. If you like Google hub, Apple HomeKit, or the A-word you can set up your zwave devices to work with any of these. The durability of the USB stick seems well built. Connects to a standard USB type A port.

Quality hardware and software, good support, impressive upgrade to my setup
I bought this to replace a Razberry shield that I’ve been using for years, with regular frustration about range and disconnects. My previous setup was fragile and I was really nervous about moving the Z-wave devices. I reached out with a pre-sale question and got a quick answer from the support team; based on that and the info on their website I decided to give it a try. My experience has been fantastic – up and running very quickly, the software has a far superior dashboard to what I was using previously, and during two months of use it’s been rock solid so far, with noticeably faster response time than the previous setup. Great value, I’m very glad to have made the switch!

Works great to connect your computer/home assistant server to other smart devices that use T-wave technology. You just plug this into the usb slot, usually with an usb extender to minimize interference, but this is not necessary if you can still get decent signal.

Works as intended with Home Assistant. The range and reliability is a lot better than my old aeotec gen 5.Had some trouble migrating from my existing z-wave controller but it was more down to my skill level and the lack of support from the old controller. The zooz worked without a hitch throughout the whole process. I imagine the process would’ve been flawless if I had remade the z-wave network from scratch or started a new one.I use home assistant HAOS and zwave js ui add on.

I bought this to upgrade and replace an Aeotec Gen500+ USB stick in a HA Yellow. Migrating a 66 node network in HA JSUI directly, or via nvmedit convert.Immediately updated to v1.4 before restoring a backup.World of difference! The network came back up as it should, and lightning fast. My mesh has now recalculated and has less hops/more direct node connections than before. I’m now running 100% on the Zooz USB stick.I had a disaster with unpingable/dead devices with the GPIO and total success with the USB stick, changing nothing else. I don’t have a small z-wave network, but be warned on the performance. I’ll be buying another ZST39 as backup and getting rid of the Aeotecs now.The GPIO ‘may’ be better if you only plan on using it with LR devices, yet untested by me.Use simplicity studio ideally or update with no nodes added, or you risk bricking the device – happened to me with the GPIO module.Check this before you do anything else, start with at least v1.4 before adding nodes as there are many issues in previous versions which this stick likely ships with.Looks like v1.5 of firmware will be released soon, and Silicon Labs claim all transmit lockups are fixed in that versions release notes. I see them rarely now on v1.4 and it’s not bad like it was, so doesn’t damage damage the mesh/automations reliability
