I know a lot of people have had bad luck with these, but I think it really comes down to how badly shipping beat it up for you. Mine came in great shape and seals well. It is sturdy enough for it’s intended purpose though I would be wary of stacking anything to heavy on top. It has a tendency to bow under weight and lose it’s seal.Pro tip: If you have some of those silica packets (those little bags you find in some pill bottles etc to keep moisture out and say “do not eat”) throw them in the bottom of this. If you live where you ever get any humidity it’s possible to trap some with the papers and possibly get condensation issues, this prevents that. Don’t have any? Buy them from Amazon too, super cheap and Prime eligible here: Dry-Packs 1-Ounce Moisture Absorbing Indicating Silica Gel, Pack Contains 5 Packets

Now that I’ve been using these since 2019, I’ve formed an opinion:They work for immediate use and not long term. I open it up every few months and it smells musty. Even here in a dry climate with new documents less than a year old. They’re made of reasonably sturdy plastic. Not the kind you’ll build a castle out of but you can stack them a few boxes high when full. I still feel a bit uncomfortable at that though. With the seal: it’s a basic foam seal, not a rubber based one so not designed to last a long time. I wish I had known. The box itself does have channels all the way around to fit standard legal and letter hanging files which also means if you want to exclude those and just set file folders in, yes! Even with the hanging folder label tabs they fit. My issue: the clamps don’t always stay locked down. I know I’ve clicked them into place and not overpacked the box but I go back and “pop” they’re off without a chance of anyone wanting to steal my sourdough bread recipe.If you are buying this for precious documents, I probably would not. I do keep boxes with various things for a limited time. These boxes I have found are bad for paper products just like my security safe. Locking in humidity, mold spores and who knows what else from the air at the time of opening can mean damage to whatever is inside the box. For my safe at least the company had the sense to say “Hey, open your safe regularly for humidity and put some carbon/silica here for your stored items…” This box, not so much. I do have photos from my childhood and even from my Great Grandma. I would never, ever, EVER, dare store them in this product. I’ve scanned my precious photos and documents in, please do yours.

I downsized everything…and just kept my important papers that were absolutely needed…and I purchased these FILE FOLDER CONTAINERS to go under my 18″ platform bed! They are perfect. All these need to keep files….but not need to access files are in a watertight container that has great lids and stack so easily if needed. Excellent item…and they cost a bit more than some file folder containers and ARE WORTH IT…much studied, handles make it easy to carry and they will not have any moisture or dust …and these containers are not going to break easily….really well made.

There is no excuse for customer service not responding
I have purched this product 8 times My issue is not with the product, it is with the company and customer service. My last shipment arrived with two of the lids broken. I tried calling the provided phone number 3 times. There was never any answer,but I left messages with my email and phone number each time. NO RESPONSE.I went to their Web site and left messages and sent emails twice, emphasizing my dissapointment. NO RESPONSE.Please take this for whatever it is worth, but the company clearly does not stand or support the product. I do like the style, that you can open half the lid, and that it is stackable. If you are lucky enough to recieve a product which does not have any problem, then you are fine.

I would not recommend, unless the lid latching completely (or at all) is not important to you.
Sturdy box, but the latches on the lid are very easily broken. The latch is held in the box with a small round hinge pin (nub- or peg- or dowel-like part) on each side of the black latch piece that snaps into the 4 corners, and those hinge pins break VERY easily. Bought 8 of these boxes and nearly half of them had broken lid latches when they arrived making them useless for real moisture protection in storage which was my primary concern. As the remaining usable boxes were being packed, a few more of the latches broke when slightly too much force was applied while working quickly.I would not recommend this product unless the lid latching is not important to you.The boxes that didn’t have broken latches were easy to use, sturdy but lightweight and feel like they’re made of heavy duty plastic. If the latches weren’t so easily broken, or if they were replaceable, or if you could fix them by melting them back together (which I attempted without success) these would be great. But that’s not the case, so I do not recommend this product.

Nice bins but they do NOT fit legal folders like they say they do. I bought all legal folders to go with it and they are too big to fit width wise and the bin is too long for them to hang length wise. No idea why it says for legal files in the description. It will be nice for letter size folders but DO NOT buy it and expect to hang legal folders. Unfortunately not what I was expecting or looking for.

These containers are generally great for storing important paperwork files because they accommodate file folder hangers and documents. One of the boxes received had a plastic piece that holds the black clip, broken. That was disappointing. That is the kind of thing you would check if purchasing personally from a store and not buy one that is broken. People shipping to you anonymously don’t check for details like that and then wonder why customer reviews are not better.

Great look and size. I intend to use them as memory boxes and have yet to put the file folders and items in them. One at orange container arrived with the handles not attached. It wouldn’t have been too big of a deal because they are easy enough to reattach, but one of the handles is cracked. The other three appear to be in good shape. Overall, I think they’ll do the job.
