No notes, no edits – a perfect product for a Smart Home beginner
I love this. I was trying to connect my whole house using Apple HomeKit, but a blend of old Tuya products my husband had bought, some older smart lightbulbs, and limited automation choices made it hard to go all-in on Apple. The Home Assistant Green is a gamechanger – it sets up nice and quickly out-of-the-box, and while you can get into really technical, code-based automations and settings, so far as a total newcomer to smart homes, I’ve been able to set up some really great automations. My favorite is that it is compatible with, and reads the status of, my Apple TV – so I’ve been able to set it so that my lights dim when I start playing a movie, and come back up when I pause, which is such a great use case of a smart home in my opinion. Similarly, when I unlock the front door (smart lock), the interior lights come on, so no more walking into a dark room! The functionality can’t be faulted, largely due to the supportive user base – any smart home product that exists, there’s a chance somebody has worked out how to connect it. And this device can act as a bridge, to put non-HomeKit devices into HomeKit, so that Siri can control them all and my husband can use Apple Home to control all devices too – including his old Tuya devices. The best part is the speed – when I was using lightbulbs direct to Apple Home over Wifi (with an old HomePod as my ‘hub’), it worked slowly, taking several seconds to respond to voice commands or taps in the app. Now, with Home Assistant hard-wired to my router and all devices put through that, no matter whether I use my voice, Apple HomeKit, or the Home Assistant app, everything is much more reliable and almost instant to turn on/off.The box itself is relatively small but built well, it feels sturdy and came well packaged. It was very easy to connect, and came with all the relevant cables.I want to make the review balanced, but I honestly can’t think of a single drawback – if I had to, I’d say that I wish it had Bluetooth and Zigbee built in (it has neither), but I got by for months without either and only need them now I’m adding even more smart devices to my house. A dongle for either can be picked up for around $15, and this has a space in the back for both of them, but I’d say that’s where the Home Assistant Yellow would have had the edge if I’d been thinking about it. Otherwise though, truly faultless, and an absolute essential piece of Smart Home kit.

Exactly What We Needed – Adds Flexibility to Our Home Automation
Home Assistant works GREAT for us. It allows us to connect many home-automation devices to Hubitat that didn’t have a direct way to do so previously (like the new Chamberlin garage door openers). Setup was easy and it works in the background with no issues. This is a great addition to anyone working with home-automation.

Quick Setup and Perfect Integration with Hubitat for a Powerful Smart Home
The Home Assistant Green Smart Home Hub exceeded my expectations. I had it up and running in just under an hour, and integrating over 50 devices was a breeze. It works flawlessly with my Hubitat Hub, and together, they make the perfect setup for a powerful and flexible smart home. The advanced automation features are fantastic, allowing me to create custom routines with minimal effort. It’s incredibly user-friendly for both beginners and advanced users, and the system is super responsive. If you’re looking for a robust smart home solution, pairing this with a Hubitat Hub is unbeatable!

Really easy to setup
Only took 30 minutes out of the box to fully set this up on my network. All of the smart devices on my network were seen and were automatically supported through the search integration function. The only thing that I didn’t like, which was out of the manufacturer’s hands was not being able to set up the Google nest cloud project on Google’s site so that I could stream on my nest cameras, but having one page to show and control all my smart devices and the automation features are great! Well worth the money.

The only way to go
If you want to use Home Assistant. Fully integrated and ready to go. Save time and get one of these rather than sloggiing away building your own. Good value for the money.

Work great as advertised
This is a great device and works better than I expected. A little learning curve to setup, but pretty straightforward after you start configuring it. Much more configurable settings than I expected. Easily detected my Ring cameras, Ambient Weather and Ecowitt weather stations, Rachio Irrigation System, Sense Energy, Honeywell thermostat and many others. Works really well and will definitely recommend.

Great add on to eisy
I have a UDI eisy as my home controller with insteon lighting, but there were some things that weren’t perfect. This little controller was pre loaded so no zipping or tar-ing files to save a couple dollars as a DIY project. Within minutes it connected to my Amazon Echo devices and found all of our greywind (Matter) blinds that the eisy could not. Now we have both full home control via keypad and voice control via cloud. If the internet goes down, my stuff still works even if Alexa isn’t.

Not user friendly
Did not work, followed all instructions and can not connect to the device. Will be returning it to Amazon.
