I recently installed the Google Nest Thermostat in my home, and while it has proven to be a reliable and efficient device overall, there were a few initial setbacks that required professional assistance. Here’s my review based on my experience:Installation and Setup: 3/5The installation process for the Google Nest Thermostat was relatively straightforward, thanks to the instructional video provided. However, I encountered difficulties during the setup that only resulted in the fan turning on rather than the complete functioning of my AC system. As a result, I had to seek professional help to rectify the issue. It would have been helpful if the setup instructions were more comprehensive and addressed potential troubleshooting scenarios.Performance and Functionality: 4/5Once the installation and setup issues were resolved, the Google Nest Thermostat performed admirably. It effectively regulated the temperature in both my upstairs and downstairs areas, providing a comfortable environment throughout my home. The thermostat’s ability to learn and adapt to my preferences over time was a notable feature that enhanced its functionality.Connectivity and Internet Dependency: 3/5One aspect that proved to be a challenge was the dependency of the Google Nest Thermostat on a stable internet connection. In instances when my internet was down, the device experienced numerous issues. It would have been beneficial if the thermostat had more robust offline capabilities to ensure uninterrupted operation even without an internet connection.User-Friendliness and Interface: 4/5The user interface of the Google Nest Thermostat is intuitive and easy to navigate. The device offers a sleek and modern design, with a clear display that provides relevant information at a glance. Controlling the thermostat through the mobile app was convenient and straightforward, allowing me to adjust settings remotely.Energy Efficiency: 4/5One of the key advantages of the Google Nest Thermostat is its energy-saving capabilities. By automatically adjusting the temperature based on occupancy and learning from my usage patterns, it helped optimize energy consumption in my home. This feature not only benefits the environment but also saves money on energy bills in the long run. Conclusion:Overall, the Google Nest Thermostat is a reliable smart home device that effectively regulates temperature and offers energy-saving benefits. However, the initial installation and setup process proved to be more challenging than anticipated, requiring professional assistance. Additionally, the device’s dependence on a stable internet connection may present issues during internet outages. Despite these hiccups, once properly installed and connected, the thermostat performs admirably and provides an intuitive user experience.

Easy to install
When installed it may ask for a C wire or certain features won’t work such as the screen going on when you approach it. A C wire is nothing more than a ground. I grounded mine to an electric box in the wall below the thermostat but if u can put it inside the ac, that works too. It’s a bit challenging to set up and to connect to Alexa but I love having it. Now I tell Alexa to change the temperature

Very disappointed.
I purchased the Google Nest thermostat 16 months ago. I had high hopes for this thermostat. It got top rated reviews and I was hoping for a smooth integration with my Alexa system. The trouble began at installation. I couldn’t get it working. I’m very handy and I enjoy dealing with electrical and electronic systems. I struggled with this thermostat installation until I had to call customer service for assistance. The first technician had me reconnect the wires (incorrectly) and reset the thermostat to no avail. I got handed off to another technician and this one got me to put the wires back and do a factory reset. Anyway, getting the thermostat to actually control my ac system was a “whole thing!” This thermostat would control my system with temperature presets but would lose the connection with Alexa. When this happened none of the schedules could be followed and I had no remote control through my phone or through Alexa or even The Google Home app. When I attempted to connect to the thermostat, Alexa would say; “Living room thermostat is unresponsive. Please check your power supply and your Wi-Fi or router!” None of my other “smart” devices were having problems so these instructions seemed pointless! The connection would usually be lost daily and sometimes the connection lasted for only a few hours. The only way that I could regain control was to physically go to the thermostat, scroll to settings and “Restart” the thermostat. When on vacation, I like to keep my ac running because I have pets and my pet sitters come over twice a day. After I left. The thermostat went to “Eco” because Alexa sensed that we were “Away”. That’s fine but I couldn’t override that because the thermostat was (you guessed it) “Unresponsive!” After 16 months of this I finally decided to do the dreaded “Factory Reset” which I had been avoiding because I would have to start from the beginning on programming. Well, after a while, I finally got it back on line, and was pretty confident that I had fixed it. Four hours later. “The living room thermostat is unresponsive. Please check…” I surfed through the Internet and found that this was not an isolated issue. In fact, I found that Google Customer Service would send a free replacement if their tech support could not resolve the (known) connectivity issue. I then spoke to my son and told him about the possible free replacement. He simply said, “ So you are going to replace the thermostat with the same kind and very possibly still have the same issues?” I didn’t have a response. So I finally decided to purchase an Amazon thermostat. There was no secondary app to install so the connectivity should be seamless. I bought for 18% off on “Prime Days” sale so it was considerably less expensive than the Google Nest. I won’t go into the product review of the Amazon thermostat here. But, I will say that I am very pleased with my new thermostat. I have not lost connectivity since start-up. I regret that it took me way too long to replace the Google Nest with a reliable thermostat. The Google Nest may be a top rated thermostat but in my personal experience, the secondary app created a problem with connectivity with Alexa making it unreliable. Towards the end of my struggles with the Nest, I was “Restarting” it daily and sometimes twice a day. In fact, it would surprise me if Alexa would ever be able to tell me the inside temperature of my home! Hey Google. As for your thermostat replacement offer, Thanks, but NO THANKS!

Love love love
Google nest thermostat never fail. They work straight off your phone. You can turn them off and on from anywhere in the world. And they install in 10 minutes you do not need to have somebody do this for you. It’s literally six color-coded wires. This is my third in my house as I got rid of all the other thermostats and replace them with nest. Definitely go with this thermostat. This particular model is not the one that learns what temperature you like in the house where it will automatically create a schedule, but it does give you the option of manually putting a schedule in the app so it will turn off and on without you having to do anything can’t say enough about the nest thermostats

Installation thermostat itself was straightforward. The only problem was no c-wire which means the battery will be used up while thermostat working. Therefore, I bought the c-wire power connector with thermostat together, and it seems easy to install connector as YouTube videos. But my boiler is not the same circuit board like YouTube. It doesn’t even have c-terminals. Luckily, after researching all night. I figured out the way to find the c-wire from existing wiring and where to connect the connector. The nest is working perfectly with power connector now.The installation of connector might be a bit difficult for some boiler. If you are not 100% sure doing it right, perhaps better find a pro or your friend.

Es mejor que el nest tradicional porque en este se pueden programar temporizador desde la app y en el otro no.
