What every parent needs on long car rides
We’ve had these Fire 7 Kids tablets for over a year now—actually bought three, one for each of my kids.I mostly use them for moments when I need them to be calm—like eating at restaurants or during long car rides—and it works every time. And honestly, they’ve been a lifesaver. My toddlers are super active (and let’s be real, a little rough with their stuff), but these tablets have held up really well. What I love the most is that as a parent, I have full control over what they can access. I set everything up through the Amazon Parent Dashboard and only allow educational games: learning letters, colors, numbers, even some fun drawing apps. They’re really sturdy, easy to manage, and honestly, for the price, I think they’re a great value. Plus, the battery lasts a good amount of time and the storage is decent for what kids need. Definitely a win for any busy parent.

Good starter tablet but will be outgrown quickly
It’s an ok tablet. I will give 5 stars for durability. This thing has been thrown, stepped on, dropped, and spilled on and it continued to live on. The first version we got of this tablet was wonderful. Battery life would last all day. Storage is obviously not that great and after just a few apps, it’s full and you need to add an SD card.Speakers are very loud! I like that it has a headphone jack. My son dropped the one we got him into water and the speakers died. Amazon did replace, but it was a bit of a hassle and they did charge us $20 still even though it was supposed to be a no hassle replacement policy. The “upgraded” version they sent us isn’t really an upgrade. In fact, the battery lasts about half as long. My son used to play the same apps all day long but now the table is dead by noon every day (we went from a 13 hour battery life to about a 5 hour battery life). It’s also pretty slow to charge compared to the last one. It’s just as durable as the first, but the battery life being so much shorter has us looking at other options. Plus the content can be pretty limited compared to Android tablets. It’s a good first tablet, especially if you have a rough and tumble toddler like I do. That being said, it’s a tablet that can be outgrown pretty quickly and can be pretty limited to Amazon only content. I bought Baby Einstein directly through Amazon to put on there and it was still a struggle to get it onto the actual tablet. We also wanted a tablet with AAC capabilities which this tablet seems to be lacking unless you want to pay quite a bit of money for the Amazon specific program. Android has more options for free or cheap AAC functions.

Absolutely the best gift I’ve given my toddler!!
I purchased this tablet for my toddler for Christmas and I am so happy that I did! My little guy goes to early learning preschool and he was a little behind other kids his age when it came to colors, letters, matching, etc.. I was not sure about purchasing a tablet since he’s a toddler I didn’t want him to constantly be on it but this tablet has made it incredibly easy to control that! I have an app on my phone that controls the amount of screen time he gets, which apps he can have, he can send requests to me for apps if he wants something, and I can monitor his activities and what all he’s doing on it. With the Amazon kids subscription it has so much content already on it and it’s all quality learning apps which I am thankful for! As a bonus this subscription is literally free for an entire year!! With the content Amazon provides along with Lucas and friends apps my son has learned sorting, colors, new words, tracing letters, matching, I could go on and on in less than two weeks time! I’m am genuinely amazed at how well he learned with these apps! We also use ABC mouse which is awesome in itself! He gets to use it for about 1-2 hrs a day and it’s plenty of time for him. The tablet itself works great! We haven’t had any issues with it at all. It comes in a cute little case that protects and I also order the anti-glare screen protector which I do believe has saved it a few times! It only needs to charge like once a week and it’s good to go! The screen is the perfect size and very clear! It has zero issues loading content and thank god because toddlers are so impatient lol All in all if your debating on whether to purchase this for your child DO IT!!! Only issue I have is I wish it had more space but that’s a simple fix with a SD card.. even without it the preloaded content is massive! 10/10 I would recommend parents to use it! It beats watching cartoons I guess lol
