They work great
They work really great and very easy to program. If you have Alexa echo devices as soon as you plug them into the outlet it automatically connects to Alexa. The size is perfect to use in any outlet. I have two of them and I am very pleased with them.

Worth It…
Works perfect with Alexia. Doesn’t take up too much room and setting up was automatic without having to open Alexa app. I just had to tell Alexa what to name it.

Buy them, Setup is super simple
These just plain work. I have ordered several different brand smart plugs over the last 4-5 years, and most have either failed or become very temperamental and don’t work reliably on my Alexa Routines. These don’t fail. They may be a few bucks more than others, but buy them. You will save time in aggravation as the setup is a breeze with Alexa, really just plug them in and they autojoin your network and just work. No complex pairing needed.

Great Cheaper Alternative! Easy to Use! *UPDATE AFTER SOME TIME*
This plug works great! I set it up with my Christmas tree for the holidays. It was easy to set up and change the name of in the Amazon Alexa app. All I have to say is, “Alexa, turn the tree on/off” and poof… there it goes!I have one of the non-amazon basics smart plugs in my bedroom to control the lights. That plug is about $15 more expensive than this one, yet it works the same. I would 100% recommend! These plugs are life changers!My only note would be that my shipping on this specific item was pushed back multiple times and took a few weeks to get, but if you don’t mind waiting, then I’d say go for it!UPDATE**I have been using this plug for about 2 weeks or so and it has not been working correctly. I will say my usual “Alexa, turn the tree off” and it’ll have a light spinning on the alexa device for a few seconds before saying that the tree was unresponsive. I then have to unplug the smart plug and plug it back in to reset it. Pretty frustrating since it started off great.

Not a review writer, but this one blew me away. For us Alexa users, it was plug and go! I changed the name with ease and it was happening! “Alexa, turn the lights on! Alexa, turn the lights off.” Very needed coming into a dark house or when you’re ready for bed and not wanting to get up to hit the switch. 5star product!

Do you really need 2 apps to turn your lights on?
I chose these because they work natively with the Alexa app. I did not want plugs that came with their own app even though that app could work with Alexa. Why have 2 apps on your phone to tell Alexa to turn lights on when one (this) works perfectly fine. Setting up and tying them to Alexa routines was easy.

I now have a dozen Amazon Smart Plugs for various accent lighting areas, patio lighting, attic fan and others. I am an enthusiastic user of the Amazon Alexa application and I really like the functionality of Routines for turning on/off devices with a predetermined schedule and the ability to override this schedule with voice commands.

Very easy to setup anf great value
So there are two smart plugs. One flagship Amazon smart plug and these Amazon Basics smart plug. I suspect as others have noted about the phenomenon that there must be some competition to market with Amazon products as we see more and more Amazon Basics stuff these days and most of us are very pleased with Amazon Basics enough so that the price for the flag ship product makes these look enticing because of quantity, value and price. While us petty consumers will really never know how to truly tell if the IOT smart plug phase will pan out for us that chose to spend money on the cheaper Amazon Basic plug vs the Amazon flagship product.We are all taking a risk on trying to determine which will last long term and which will remain in our households and be compatible with all the rest of our IOT smart devices but for me I chose this plug and it just works right out of the box with the rest of my Amazon home automation like echo dots and other alexa devices. I even had a chance to pre provision the device before it got to my house! That is cool and a really awesome idea especially those that would order in bulk and don’t want to configure hundreds+ of these one at a time. Good on ya for thinking ahead. I choose to spend my money on these as they fit the bill and when off consume only about .5W at 110V AC.These are used in my office, and anywhere where big draws of power are occurring in my house so that I can set them up on a schedule (supported by alexa out of the gate) and turn the plugs on and off during peak, mid peak and off peak hours as needed to save extra money. I even use these on my solar batteries when I may be away from home.
