Changes air and LIFE quality! Get it!
I really don’t know why we waited so long to get this! We live in the woods and smoke cigarettes in our home. I cleaned 3x a day to try and keep up with the cigarettes and musty odors in our old house– not to mention the stinky dogs and boot odor! When we started using this, I cleaned the house entirely and turned it on and couldn’t believe how fresh the air stayed with 3 people smoking!! Now, I don’t have to clean until the floors actually LOOK like they need cleaned! There is no longer a lingering musty smell in my house and it knocks out any odor from the dogs, their beds, and even the boots! I save so much money on cleaning supplies and sprays now! Im sure it has paid for itself already. It has so many different functions and abilities that I probably haven’t figured out yet, so it’s probably even better than I even know. We’ve had it for months and I figured I would need a filter monthly because of the smells, but it’s still going strong! I am going to order the washable pet filter next and see if it works just as well.I originally ordered this because I have an auto immune disease and am always getting sick. I also have allergies and 3 dogs. Every morning I would wake up with a “full head”. Knock on wood, I haven’t had as many sinus issues and have yet to catch anything close to a cold! It also helps when we run the wood burner as well because that causes my allergies to flare, too.My step son also has the worst allergies I’ve ever witnessed in my life and he can now come and stay with minimal issues. Let’s face it, with 3 dogs, 2 dirty men, teenagers, cigarettes, a damp basement, etc… I didn’t have much hope, but this machine has changed our lives. Most people can’t even tell we smoke in here at all, as long as I change my curtains reguarly and do some light cleaning on the walls monthly. Please, do not hesitate on making the investment for this air purifier! I haven’t owned another to compare it to, but it seems quiet compared to some I’ve visited at friends and family’s houses and really easy to take care of and use. Also, it’s pretty nice and fancy to use an app to check the air quality, too.We currently live in a large house that has a lot of rooms and I would say it takes care of about half of it. If you have an open-concept, I would say it would do a much larger area, probably well up to 1000 square feet or more. Our residence is well over 1600 and I’m more than happy with what it does here.

    5 Stars for The CCP!
Please hear me out before casting judgment on my claim. So many household products today are becoming embedded with “smart” wireless technologies for convenience in exchange for privacy – your data. TVs, vacuums, food storage, kitty litter boxes, and, I guess, now, air filters come with Wi-Fi integration and smart home compatibility for voice recognition and application-driven control, scheduling, and over-the-air updating. Combine this with a government-backed industry to inexpensively proliferate this type of technology in other nations, and you have a fantastic way to infiltrate and undermine a lax, consumer-driven society. But why am I making these claims? Because I almost fell victim to one of the most frequent techniques of bad actor subterfuge…acting with a sense of urgency. With any new device that I’m unfamiliar with, the longevity of a product is always on my mind, and I normally act on any warranty registration included. This product also provided this option. On a teal label on the filter, a “life time warranty” is advertised so long as it’s activated “within 7 days of purchase.” Before forgetting, I considered this would be quick and easy to do…and it is! With various QR codes to enter the owner and purchase information, I opted for the QR code that would take me to the “official website.”Upon arrival, I received a prompt to enter my name, email address, and the order number. I wasn’t exactly sure which order number it was referencing, but fortunately, there’s even a how-to link included below the order number field about where I can find this order number on Amazon. After reviewing the how-to website, I quickly found my order number information from my recent orders on Amazon. Before submitting my name, email address, and order number (which also provides the date of purchase, purchase amount, and shipping address to the seller), I ran through the how-to website to double-check my work. At the very bottom of the how-to website’s footer, I found the usual copyright and website information that most legitimate websites have, along with a series of Hanzi (Chinese characters) and a weird string of numbers and characters that were also hyperlinked. So like any curious cat, I clicked……and where did it take me? To the CCP’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) main government websiteUnfortunately, I lack the proper government credentials to enter beyond the user login screen. However, there’s plenty of content to sift through below about all the current happenings at the MIIT.Don’t get me wrong, even when translated to my native language of English, there are plenty of announcements and documentation listed that provide some insight into what this sector of Chinese pseudo-government-industry represents. From there, we can read about the MIIT’s most recent update on data scraping for the “Network Security Law.” A worthy read and very fascinating. This is just another brazen attempt by the Chinese government to invade your privacy. I almost directly signed off my name, email address, and indirectly my shipping address to a Chinese shell company that’s tied straight to their data mining apparatus. On top of all the potential wireless hazards this simple home device could incur, I plead that you consider your privacy before connecting this device to your local Wi-Fi or any of your devices that contain personal or private information. Do you really want to be duped by an air filter?Regarding the air filter itself, it is very nicely packaged after removing the air filter from the box. Helpful instructions are included to itemize all the intended components that should be included and that most of them are within the air filter’s filer housing, where the power cable, disposable filter, and instructions are kept while packaged. The instructions are very clear and legible. The ability to select the airflow is nice, along with being able to set time settings and even change the RGB lights (or leave them off) are nice features, especially in a white-painted room. These settings can all be adjusted from the air filter without connecting to your Wi-Fi or wireless device. No long-term review of its performance just yet since it just arrived today, but I’m optimistic that it will do well. I’ll report back unless the MIIT has traced me to my location for viewing their website and has persuaded me to edit my “review”…*Also – one last shout-out to some of the questions asking where this is made. The box clearly states “MADE IN CHINA” despite what other answers tell you.Stay safe everyone!

    My Air Filter
I would love to give these a 10 but only reason I want is because it goes offline a lot. It’s has a lot of great features. I would buy it again.

    Small and Attractive but Powerful
The Afloia Kilo Plus is both the smallest and the most attractive air purifier I have ever owned. While others were mostly empty space inside, the Kilo Plus is all fan and filter – with a little space for brains. The power supply is through a wall wart with a long DC cord – if you plan to run it on an extension cord you could end up with a wall wart in the middle of your room. For the Afloia Kilo Plus, “Sleep” mode is a fan speed; it doesn’t stop the unit from operating. When it is set to “Sleep” mode it cleans the air in near perfect silence. But you can set the fan to its highest speed and this little unit moves a LOT of air, enough to handle my very big room. For me the most important feature was voice control through Alexa. My wife is handicapped so we prefer any appliance that she can control with Alexa. App/Alexa control was very easy to set up, though the app confused me a bit – it did not give a clear indication that the connection had completed so I kept struggling with it even after it was good to go. Alexa can turn the Kilo Plus on and off, but as far as I can see the other settings (fan speed and decorative lights) can only be controlled through the buttons. That doesn’t bother us, we only care about turning it on and off. We did immediately rename it, though, because “Alexa turn on Kilo Plus” is too hard to remember. Our first impression of the Afloia Kilo Plus was so positive that we ordered a second one. If we eventually have any bad experiences I will post them as a review of that second unit.
