My first laptop, and I am impressed
Let’s get the downfall out of the way as the first order of business. The interface (mouse) pad is difficult to learn. I need to study up on the functions, and there were no instructions that came with the computer. None. The dynamics are far different than those of a mouse for the desktop, and interface instructions would have been extremely helpful. Afterall, the interface is the heart of the machine. With that said, there are many positive and noteworthy attributes this laptop has. The full 1080p screen is fantastic, it’s high definition is to be applauded. I am connected though my wifi router to the interweb, and it is fast, and steady in the connection and speed of operation. I think that I am the limiting factor where speed and maneuverability are concerned, not the machine. The keypad is very responsive, and the interface pad is almost too sensitive. Better not hover over an icon and even think about touching the pad, or it will load the app represented by the icon that you are parked over. I purchased this computer because it was on special sale and has impressive stats. Very good value for the money, and has an impressive advertised battery life. It is definately hefty, but the weight is very reasonable– I have not weighed it, but the weight is not a factor to me. For me, this unit is a sound investment.

It required a manual windows 11 upgrade out of the box.
This laptop was sent to me with a version of windows 11 (22H2) that is so old that Microsoft no longer supports it with updates and security features. The hardware looks like it is very good. I did all the windows updates and the 22H2 would not upgrade to 24H2, the latest version. Windows was nagging about the upgrade insisting that I upgrade. Since I know my way around computers, I was able to manually download and install the 24H2 Windows 11 and get it to boot fine. Now I have a really nice laptop. If you are someone who is interested in a laptop and you do not know how to do this kind of PC maintenance, I would not recommend buying this laptop. I’m not sure if this was the seller’s fault, the manufacturer’s fault, or Microsoft’s fault, but it was not ready to use out of the box and required some computer expertise to get it to new quality that it is now. My question is:Why on earth did a new laptop come with a 2.5 year old unsupported version of Windows 11 in the first place??
