Looks great-less filling
Reliable, high performance motherboard as expected from Asus. At first, I was weary of making the upgrade from my 13900k and Asus ROG Maximus hero dark, due to everything I’ve read saying there’s little or no gain (and sometimes decrease) in gaming performance from the core 9 ultra 285k. But since I decided to go with an all white theme for my gaming room, the Mobo was the last piece of the puzzle.Made the switch and I’m extremely happy. Aesthetically, Asus hit it out of the park with the all white PCB. Amazing attention to detail. AI features are plentiful, even if you can’t find a use for them. Personally, I feel ai has been shoehorned into every aspect of computing just to justify all the money and r&d spent. Crazy that my 4 year old CPU outperforms this 600+ dollar unit.Tl;DrLooks very good – aesthetics1010General performance – 1010Power efficiency & temps – 6.510Gaming performance – 7.710Great construction, great use of Intels lackluster upgrades. Runs hot with ai oc enabled. Vrm should have dedicated fan and better heat sink

Update the BIOS immediately upon first boot.
I’m using this motherboard with a “Core Ultra 7 265k Series 2” (Seriously Intel, why this name?), and it runs with no issues so far. The motherboard will indicate to you if your ram is not inserted in the right configuration. The Manual it came with doesn’t have much documentation unfortunately. Get it from the motherboard’s support website.More importantly, there is a bug on the first release BIOS of this motherboard that conflicts with the graphics card and iGPU and has problems with some high capacity RAM kits. You can get the latest BIOS version from Asus’ website.

So far, so good.
The xmp didn’t work stable with my memory, but i’m not too concerned at this point as it is first release. This is my first new MB in the last 4 years and probably my first ASUS MB ever. I find the bios settings way overwhelming but considering I’m not really doing anything extra, it is fine. I’m using gen 5 nvme and seems to be working good.

Motherboard came with bent pins, it’s suppose to be new…
I ordered this item, had to ship it out to ASUS for repair due to getting a DRAM light. I just received word that the unit had bent pins not covered under warranty, and had to pay more money to get it fixed. An additional 100+ dollars for repairs and shipping fees… I hope it’s worth it.

I bought this board after weeks of pure frustration with a much more expensive MSI Z890 Ace that had all kinds of design problems. I say that because after FIVE new BIOS updates that have been released, the exact same problems still persist, so obviously it’s not something MSI can fix with BIOS updates. This ROG Strix Z890-E from ASUS, despite being $330 less expensive, is overall a much better product. I’ve been using high-end MSI boards for the past six years (Z390 Godlike and Z690 Ace), but after my horrendous experience with the Z890 Ace, I won’t even consider another MSI board for at least another decade.Paired it with an Intel 265K, and haven’t looked back. Completely stable, tons of features, and a power-user’s dream with all the overclocking and tweaking options that ASUS gives you in the BIOS.

This is a super nice motherboard. It has lots of features and I haven’t had any issues. I’d always stick with asus as I found the quality of their electronics is top tier.
