Very helpful for cord cutters
I was surprised how easily this works. So much so I bought another for our other TV.The menu is -12 * It has so much info and choices it can be overwhelming. The categories help and a categorie for free channels take a effort to find. We are allowed to rearrange the menu for favorites, It helps. If we choose to subscribe to some pay channels, Roku can include our subscription stations. I feel they encourage us to subscribe to some. But it’s easy to work around once familiar.A neat feature on some free tv channels is a count down timer to tell how long the commercial is going to run. MUTE P break. Somehow there are fewer, farther apart, shorter, adds on free stations.The deluxe HD model is worth the extra cost including a upgraded remote and the image improvement is noticeable on our HD TV. I also bought the back lighted Rechargeable remote separately, They do need batteries or recharge regularly.It is still a little too complicated for Grand Ma who just wants to turn it on and watch her game shows.I would be a good mode. For some.

Fantastic device, better than the Amazon Firesticl
Love this item! I use it for my outdoor movie setup but you can also use it anywhere you have an HDMI hookup. The setup was pretty simple to navigate. It connects seamlessly with my projector and even though we are 200 ft from my home WiFi, we have had no wifi connection issues.Also, our family vacay is at a spot where they don’t have streaming setup. We can hook up this Roku device to our TV and have access to all our streaming apps.I also think this is a MUCH better option than the Amazon fire stick because it comes with a power cord. Amazon’s comparable product costs $20 more and you have to buy the power supply separately. No, absolutely not. This Roku device works well, has easy setup and is equal in value.

Paid $28 for it. Came same day. EZ to install on LG Monitor, that has internal speakers. Took me 15 minutes total to hook it up to a 27′ LG curved monitor and voice remote is nice. You get what you pay for I like buying tech items from the manufacturer or maker. ROKU IS MY CHOICE Works great #REALREVIEWS tells it like it is.

Quick and easy.
It’s super easy to setup, just had a few hiccups when I really first started it up. I wasn’t sure why but the power wouldn’t turn on and the Roku wouldn’t start up. After a few tries of unplugging and plugging, it started to work and the setup was easy. It’s very nice when you or the person has multiple subscriptions for streaming services and you want to use the TV without hooking it up to a laptop/PC. It’s so compact that you can literally place is right nearby the TV without needing an extra stand for your laptop, (which I used to do). With a laptop, you would need another wireless keyboard and mouse to avoid standing up but with the Roku, just a remote and your phone if needed.Just keep a note that this Roku doesn’t support wireless bluetooth earphones so if you’re into that, don’t buy this one. You would probably need to go through different products to get it working.The one good thing about a Roku is how you can just open the streaming app on your phone and cast it through there. It’s very quick and better than using a remote control to type and look for what you want.Only downside is the connectivity has little bit of an issue at times, where my Samsung TV (not so smart but smart TV) has problems where the volume buttons don’t work. I would have to pull out my actual samsung tv remote to control the volumes and then after a few hours, the roku remote controls work again. It is definitely a hassle and the reason why I docked one star off.

What an excellent device
Everyone is saying the same thing: it’s a truly excellent device. I particularly like the simple remote — it’s solid and very easy to use. I now understand why Roku devices have become so popular. It’s far better than Google Chromecast and Amazon Fire Stick. I take it with me when traveling or visiting friends — just plug it in and play (Wi-Fi setup is easy). Very handy.

The reasons why I like my Roku is the ease of setting up and starting. I have other Roku devices on other TVs in my home. The best one is the Roku Pro because it allows for earphone connection Plus two memory setups for channels that I like to go to quickly. Each Roku device has kept working with no trouble. I would recommend this device for anyone suffering with dementia. It is very easy for one of my family members to use who is suffering in different stages of dementia. I’m not saying it’s going to be easy for someone else in the same situation but in my house it’s very easy for them. I also like the fact that I can watch what I want to watch and not what Verizon wants me to watch. The ability to sign up for a channel for just the summer while baseball season is happening and then turn it off for the winter months is great. I will not look at any other product in the future unless it’s an upgrade to Roku.

This little device has now allowed our older smart TV to stream all of our paid as well as free programs, such as Prime, Netflix (which with the change in advertising(tiered payment)we were no longer able to watch Netflix unless we we paid the much higher subscription with no advertising, which we refused to pay). So so glad we purchased this!
